I feel like I say this every year, but it’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that Amy and I said “I do” 18 years ago. Our anniversaries seem to come by faster and faster, but there’s nobody else I’d rather be on this adventure with. The photo above was taken sometime in 2000 when we first stated dating. I was a freshman design student at UCF and Amy was about to start studying Chemical Engineering at FIT in Melbourne. We were just kids ourselves, but were already talking then about what life might be like “someday” when we had a family of our own.

Yup, that’s us now, and we’re still wondering how we ended up in this situation. As of this year, with Adelyn turning 9, we’ve officially been parents for longer than we were married without kids. We’ve been back in Florida for the same amount of time that we lived in Atlanta. In another 9 years, our girls will start leaving the nest. “Someday” hasn’t looked much at all like either of us expected, but I’m grateful for this life we’ve built together. I love you, Ames! Thank you for sticking with me for all these years, and I’m excited to continue on this journey with you.
